Traditional Wushu Championships 2024

Celebrating the Success of the Traditional Wushu Championships 2024 in London

We are thrilled to announce the resounding success of our recent Traditional Wushu Championships, held in London at AIM North London – Edmonton. The event brought together over 100 participants from various styles of Traditional Chinese Martial Arts, showcasing the incredible diversity and rich traditions of Wushu.

The event welcomed competitors and associations from across the UK and Europe, including:

  • British Institute for Chinese Martial Arts
  • Hung Kuen Academy UK
  • KungFu Zone
  • Long Fei Tiji Quan Association of Great Britain
  • Shaolin Lotus
  • Shaolin Temple Martial Arts and Cultural Centre – GB
  • Shaolin Yong Chun (France)
  • Wushu Sports & Arts Academy
  • And many independent entries

The theme of the event, Friendship Through Martial Arts, was at the heart of the day. Competitors, coaches, and spectators came together in a spirit of sportsmanship and shared passion for Traditional Wushu.

A special mention and heartfelt thanks go to our dedicated judges, whose expertise and commitment ensured the smooth running of the event:

  • Head Judge: Sifu Shkar Sharif (KungFu Zone)
  • Head Judge: Coach Myrsini Christodulelli (Shaolin Temple Martial Arts and Cultural Centre – GB)
  • Sifu Philip: (Hung Kuen UK)
  • Coach Dolan Ottole: (KungFu Zone)
  • Shifu Shi Yan Jin: (Shaolin Lotus)
  • Sifu Andrew Harris: (British Institute for Chinese Martial Arts)

The event would not have been possible without the tireless support of our volunteers, administrators, and organisers. A huge thank you to the competitors for their dedication, the coaches for their hard work in preparing the athletes, and the spectators for their enthusiastic encouragement throughout the day.

This event, hosted by the GB Wushu KungFu Federation and organised by the Shaolin Temple Martial Arts and Cultural Centre – GB, truly delivered on its promise to promote friendship through martial arts.

We are already looking forward to next year’s event—an even bigger celebration of Traditional Wushu, where we’ll continue to make new friends and strengthen bonds within the martial arts community.

Thank you all for making this year’s event an unforgettable experience!
